Question:
Where do you recommend we shoot our session?
I think the best place to shoot is where your children are most comfortable. If this is in your home and you have good light I say home (specially for very young children or newborn babies). We can also go to a park or outdoor green space, I know a lot of great outdoor locations. I like to find something fun to do for the session and I love it when families are open to doing things that might mean making a mess, whether that is painting, or cooking or jumping in mud puddles or even getting wet under the sprinkler in the front yard.

Question:
There are two things to consider with timing... light and children’s sleep schedule.
For outdoor sessions, the “golden hour” (2 hours before sunset) is always preferred but if you have young children, nap and feeding times need to be considered and we will schedule around that. Newborn sessions are best at 10am, but again may be dependent on sleep and feed schedules for other children.
what is the best time of day to schedule?

Question:
Yes, you will receive approximately 100 images in your gallery. Every image in your gallery will be edited, and available for download at print or web resolution. You can print yourself, or order curated heirloom product directly from your gallery. I recommend downloading all of the images to your computer after each session.
WILL i have access to all the images in my gallery?

Question:
How long after birth should we schedule our newborn session and do you provide props?
The general rule is 10 days, but it can be stretched to 16. Birth is exhausting for baby and mom, so it is important that everyone has time to recover and find their balance again before rushing into photos. By 14 days babies have usually cleared any blemishes and lost their umbilical cord.
I don’t bring any props outside a selection of wraps, backdrop blankets, and a posing bean bag that we can use if baby settles and sleeps. I find babies are happiest when being held, so how they are responding, will determine how we shoot for the day.

Question:
Don’t worry. That’s my best advice. Be patient, keep moving and let them have their moment. As a mum too, I know that kids hardly ever cooperate on demand. If something isn’t working, we simply move on to the next activity. I promise that without the pressure, they will come around.
what happens if my kids just aren't cooperating?

Question:
I aim to frame and shoot in a way that is flattering and to your home so I find photoshopping is rarely necessary. My general rule is that I don't alter the way you look other than skin blemishes or anything temporary that would not normally be there. If there is something like a flyaway hair that is bothersome I can have that fixed when you order prints.
can you photoshop us?
